Giorgia Fonyodi
ARTE - Mask

“Everything remains to be what it was and what it is. The world situation of man can change only in one single case: he can only stand in a straight angle and enter things neatly if he shatters – not the mirror but what is there in the mirror: the idol. A mask is true because veracity depends on it. One can only see the world if man sees God and not an idol. This is why Montaigne writes: „il faut oster le masque aussi bien des choses que personnes” - the masks of people and things must be removed.”
